[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises (KFME) announced on the 3rd that it has launched an online policy newsletter called 'Medium-sized Enterprise Policy Brief,' which consists of major government policies and legislative trends, as well as activities and achievements in legal and institutional improvements. The Medium-sized Enterprise Policy Brief is a service that organizes and provides key legal and institutional trends related to medium-sized enterprises, including policies scattered across various websites of government ministries and the National Assembly, legislative and administrative notices, and legislative progress in the National Assembly.
KFME explained that the newsletter was planned to enhance accessibility to policy information for medium-sized enterprises and to expand consensus and cooperation for improving the legal and institutional environment. The first issue of the Medium-sized Enterprise Policy Brief includes KFME's proposals for legal and institutional improvements, such as a joint economic sector statement on the revision of the National Pension Service's fiduciary responsibility activity guidelines and opinions from the medium-sized enterprise sector on the 2021 tax law enforcement decree amendment. It also covers policies and support projects related to medium-sized enterprises by ministries such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, as well as the passage of the Special Act on National Advanced Strategic Industries in the National Assembly plenary session.
Park Yang-gyun, head of the policy division at KFME, said, "Correct recognition and understanding of changes in the legal and institutional environment are of utmost importance when establishing management strategies," adding, "By selecting and delivering important policy and legislative trends, we will support medium-sized enterprises in building their response posture and develop this into a forum for discussion to seek effective measures to resolve management difficulties and improve unreasonable regulations."
