[Asia Economy Online Issue Team] Idol singer-turned-model A has voiced complaints about complications from plastic surgery.
In a recent interview with the YouTube channel 'Beauty Outside,' A revealed the story behind filing a medical lawsuit after experiencing side effects following a mouth corner surgery.
A said, "Originally, I had no intention of getting mouth corner surgery, but I underwent the procedure at the doctor's recommendation and suffered side effects such as my mouth becoming extremely wide and long horizontally. The hospital was advertising on YouTube with a famous BJ attached. The chief surgeon was young and eloquent, which gave me a sense of trust," she began.
She continued, "Since my face is my livelihood, having it ruined caused me to develop social anxiety, and I even broke up with my fianc?e because of it. I had to return to China for my activities, but I was so afraid of people seeing my face that I stayed at home," she lamented.
A protested the side effects to the plastic surgery clinic but was only told to "wait" repeatedly. While visiting other hospitals for lip restoration, she discovered that the procedure itself was problematic and caused the side effects.
Ultimately, A filed a medical lawsuit against the plastic surgery clinic. She revealed that she spent about 15 million KRW on restoration surgery and endured tremendous pain.
She warned about the risks of mouth corner surgery. A stated, "I learned that many people suffer from side effects of mouth corner surgery. If I could turn back time, I would never have undergone such surgery. Even in the medical community, since the safety of this surgery is not proven, most plastic surgeons do not recommend mouth corner or philtrum surgeries," she asserted.
She added, "Do not choose a plastic surgery clinic based on YouTube or plastic surgery introduction applications. You should go to clinics that have a lot of word-of-mouth recommendations from people around you or acquaintances who had good results. Also, it is important to meet a responsible doctor. Not just doctors who explain well, but those who thoroughly handle aftercare even if it takes years," she advised.
In conclusion, A said, "I came forward for this interview to emphasize that 'if you are overly greedy, you will end up like me.' I regret and reflect on my wrong decisions every day," she said.
