Detailed Specifications of 3 Models Fully Revealed Before Galaxy Unpacked on the 10th (KST)
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The detailed specifications of the three Galaxy Tab S8 series models, unveiled at the 'Galaxy Unpacked 2022' event on the 10th of this month (Korean time), have been fully revealed.
GSM Arena reported on the 2nd (local time), citing famous IT tipster Evan Blass, that the detailed specifications of all three Galaxy Tab S8 models (Standard, Plus, Ultra) were leaked in advance. Official promotional images were also released.
The Galaxy Tab S8 series is expected to be released in three models: Standard, Plus, and Ultra. This is the first time Samsung Electronics has used these names for its tablet lineup, and it appears that all models come equipped with the S Pen. Notably, the Ultra model is said to feature the largest screen ever applied in the Galaxy Tab series. Considering that previous tablet PCs ranged from 8 to 12 inches, this is interpreted as a move to differentiate with an extra-large size.
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is expected to feature a 14.6-inch Super Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 application processor (AP), and a large-capacity battery of around 11,200mAh. The refresh rate is 120Hz, and it is expected to support 45W fast charging. The RAM capacity is up to 16GB, and storage is up to 512GB.
The Plus model includes the same accessories. It supports a 12.4-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a Super AMOLED display. The battery is 10,090mAh and supports 45W fast charging. RAM capacity is 8GB, and storage capacity is up to 256GB.
The Standard model features an 11-inch Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) with the same 120Hz refresh rate. It has an 8,000mAh battery and also supports 45W fast charging. Like the Plus model, it supports 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
The prices are expected to be ▲Standard 829,000 KRW ▲Plus 1,149,000 KRW ▲Ultra 1,469,000 KRW.
Samsung Electronics recently received domestic radio certification for the Galaxy Tab S8 series. According to new conformity status information released by the National Radio Research Agency, the product was certified under the name '5G NR mobile communication wireless equipment' (model number SM-X906N).
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics plans to hold the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event and unveil not only the three Galaxy Tab S8 models but also the flagship smartphone Galaxy S22 series. The event will be held online.
