"Stay-at-Home Cheer Squad Gather" CU Hosts Popular Snack Giveaway Event CU, Winter Sports Event Ceremony.


[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] CU announced on the 2nd that it will introduce various events and products targeting home cheering squads in celebration of the upcoming winter sports events.


Steady sellers in the convenience store snack category, such as Uiseong Garlic Hot Bar, Boneless Haxen Slice, Spicy Grilled Cartilage, and Plump Crab Stick, will have a 1+1 event from today until the 13th. Popular frozen dumplings like Thin Skin Spicy Gyoza and Lamb Skewer-flavored Gyoza, as well as processed meat products such as Pocha Grilled Pork Intestines, Octopus Vienna, and Truffle Deli Ham, will be available with a 1+1 benefit until the 20th.


For 12 types of snacks including Uno Pizza, Charcoal-grilled Chicken Gangjeong, and Seasoned Chicken Sprinkle, a 2+1 event will be held. If these products are purchased with Woori Card, Paybook QR, or Paycoin from the 7th to the 13th, customers can receive an additional 50% discount and earn 3% CU membership points.


In the dried snack category, a 1+1 event will be held for seven products including Karaoke Grilled, Kkuiman, Grilled Squid, Richam Beef Jerky, and Vegan Jerky.


Promotions will also be conducted for popular products in the alcoholic beverage category. The 'Baekyang BYC Vienna Lager,' available only at CU, can be purchased at a 2,000 KRW discount when buying four cans. For 12 types of imported and craft beers such as Stella, Hoegaarden, Goose Island IPA, Budweiser, and Beck's, which recently saw price increases, BC Card users will receive a 1,000 KRW billing discount when purchasing four or more cans.


For 15 popular wines including 'Eum! Premium,' customers paying with Naver Pay can enjoy a 20% instant discount, an additional 5% CU membership discount, and 5% Naver membership points accumulation. On the 8th, easy-to-enjoy late-night snack products such as Corn Cheese Barbecue Chicken and Giant Chicken Gangjeong will also be released.


A CU representative said, "The reason for planning products and events targeting winter sports events is that due to COVID-19, it has become difficult to watch games together at bars and restaurants, so we expect an increase in home cheering squads gathering in small groups to support the games at home," adding, "We will continuously introduce various products and marketing by observing customer responses during the event period."
