[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] Regarding cases such as broadcaster Kang Seok-woo, who experienced vision deterioration after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, health authorities stated that "causality has not been confirmed."

On the 30th, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency's COVID-19 Vaccination Response Task Force (Task Force) explained, "There have been no reports domestically or internationally, including from the WHO (World Health Organization) and CDC (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), that COVID-19 vaccination causes vision deterioration."

The Task Force emphasized, "Although there have been some reports of eye-related conditions both domestically and abroad, causality between the vaccine and these conditions has not been confirmed."

Broadcaster Kang Seok-woo announced on the 27th that after receiving the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, the condition of one eye worsened, leading him to suspend his radio activities that he had been conducting for six years. Prior to this, Kang Seon-woo, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, cited data received from the Task Force revealing that there have been a total of 623 reported cases related to vision deterioration among vaccine adverse reactions (as of October 31 of last year).
