"Middle-aged in their 40s increased daily walking... 1 trillion more steps than MZ generation"

Investigation of CacheWalk Operator Nudge Healthcare
Senior Users' Step Count Recorded at 320 Million Steps
Accounting for 61% of Total... MZ Generation 2 Trillion Steps

"Middle-aged in their 40s increased daily walking... 1 trillion more steps than MZ generation"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] It was revealed that the daily step count of middle-aged and older adults in their 40s and above last year exceeded that of the MZ generation (born from the early 1980s to the early 2000s) by 1 trillion steps.

Despite restrictions on outdoor activities due to COVID-19, the increase in middle-aged adults managing their health through walking exercise in daily life can be observed.

According to Nudge Healthcare, which operates the health management application 'Cashwalk,' the cumulative step count of Cashwalk users in 2021 was recorded at 5.3 trillion steps. This represents a 12.5% increase compared to 4.7 trillion steps the previous year.

In particular, the step count of middle-aged users in their 40s last year accounted for a high proportion. Users aged 40 and above recorded 61% (3.2 trillion steps) of the total, surpassing the MZ generation users' 2 trillion steps by about 1 trillion steps.

Cashwalk is characterized by providing points based on step counts as monetary rewards and features a network function that encourages exercise among users. Especially, by introducing a pedometer function on the phone's lock screen, users can intuitively check and earn rewards for their exercise behavior.

A Nudge Healthcare official stated, "We will continue to improve the service so that all generations can experience health management habit formation through the simple and practical Cashwalk."

Meanwhile, Nudge Healthcare's Cashwalk is Korea's leading health management app, with a cumulative download count of 16 million and a daily active user count (DAU) exceeding 3 million.

Last December, about one year after its launch on the US Google Play Store, it surpassed 500,000 cumulative subscribers, proving its international competitiveness in the local health and fitness app market.
