Hip-Hop Audition Show Singer Reported for Drug Suspicion... Rapid Test 'Negative'

[Asia Economy Reporters Seongpil Cho, Gyumin Oh] It has been reported that a singer who appeared on a hip-hop audition program on a cable channel was suspected of using drugs.

According to the police on the 29th, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul received a report from a woman at around 2:10 a.m. the previous day in front of a convenience store in Mapo-gu. The woman reportedly told the police that "Singer A and another person smoked a powder presumed to be marijuana at a nearby hotel." However, Singer A, who arrived shortly after, denied the allegation.

The police conducted an investigation to determine if there was any criminal suspicion against them. Although both tested negative in a preliminary drug test, the police sent their hair and urine samples to the National Forensic Service for a detailed analysis. The results are expected to take about three weeks.

The police plan to investigate the specific time of inhalation and the source of the substance once the National Forensic Service's results are available. However, if the test results come back negative, the case may be closed as an unsolved file.
