[Asia Economy New York=Special Correspondent Joesl Gina] The Biden couple, who have become 'cat owners,' have revealed their 'First Cat,' Willow.

According to CNN and other outlets, Jill Biden, wife of President Joe Biden, shared photos of Willow, a two-year-old cat who moved into the White House on the 28th (local time). Willow is a female cat Jill met during the 2020 presidential campaign at a support rally in Pennsylvania.

Jill Biden's spokesperson, Michael LaRosa, stated in a press release, "Willow is settling into the White House, sniffing and exploring with her favorite toys and treats."

Willow's name comes from Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, Jill Biden's hometown. CNN reported that acquaintances have been caring for Willow over the past few months. Earlier, the Biden couple had expressed their intention to bring a cat into the White House after winning the presidential election.

This is the first time a cat has entered the White House since 'India' during the George W. Bush administration.

The Biden couple currently also care for a German Shepherd named Commander, adopted last December at the White House. The German Shepherd 'Champ,' who had entered the White House earlier, died last June at the age of 13. Another German Shepherd, 'Major,' has left the White House due to several aggressive incidents involving staff.
