Military: "We will enhance the promise with citizens through ESG ethical management"
[Haenam＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam County in Jeollanam-do is showing a high implementation rate of 97.8% for the public pledge projects of the 7th local government, rapidly approaching the completion of all tasks.
On the 28th, the county announced that under the local government goals of "Shining Land’s End, Haenam Running Again" for the 7th local government, it has been promoting 5 major policies and 65 detailed action tasks through promises made to the residents.
As of the fourth quarter of last year, 54 out of 65 projects have been completed, and 11 projects are progressing normally.
The inspection results of the 7th local government pledge project implementation show high execution rates in all areas: field-centered communication administration at 100%, prosperous wealthy farming villages at 99%, cultural tourism that encourages stays at 94%, vibrant local economy at 96%, and customized welfare that moves the heart at 99%.
In the fourth quarter of 2021, the development of advanced agricultural complexes such as reclaimed land and the summer music festival (Summer Picnic Music Festival) were completed. The advanced agricultural complex established on reclaimed land along the Yeongsan River will create a future advanced agricultural hub of 50.3 hectares, including export-specialized smart farm greenhouses.
The summer music festival, promoted as content development to revitalize the Osiano tourism complex, was unable to be held continuously due to the spread of COVID-19 after the basic plan was established, but last year, the Osiano camping concert was held for the first time, receiving great response.
Additionally, major projects completed last year include the opening of Haenam Cinema and the Youth Nurim Culture Center, the opening of Uldolmok Skywalk and the marine cable car, and the construction of a local food direct sales store, raising the completion rate to 83%.
The county has been increasing public consensus by making the progress of pledge implementation transparent so that residents can easily understand it, and enhancing objectivity and fairness in pledge execution through the operation of a citizen evaluation group directly participating in the pledge implementation.
In particular, Haenam has been recognized as the best local government in pledge implementation nationwide, being the only county-level area in Jeollanam-do to be selected for three consecutive years with the highest grade (SA) in the pledge implementation evaluation hosted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, and winning the grand prize and excellence award in two indicators at the 2021 pledge implementation excellence case presentation.
This year, the county plans to faithfully carry out communication and trust administration in all areas of local government, prioritizing the completion of all action tasks and the realization of promises made to residents in the 7th local government, to complete ESG ethical management, the policy of local government operation.
County Governor Myung Hyun-kwan said, “The promises made to residents in the 7th local government are showing a high implementation rate and are appearing as tangible results that residents can feel,” adding, “We will meticulously check the progress of completed projects to improve their completeness and speed up the completion of remaining tasks as soon as possible.”
