[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] The Democratic Party, the People’s Party, and the Justice Party have agreed to hold a four-party TV debate on February 3rd, featuring the presidential candidates from the four major parties.
On the 28th, Park Jumin, head of the Democratic Party’s Broadcast Debate Content team, held a briefing at the party headquarters after a working-level meeting on terrestrial broadcast debates among the three parties excluding the People Power Party, stating, "We have agreed to hold a four-party debate at 8 PM on February 3rd."
Park said, "The People Power Party must confirm their participation in the four-party debate on February 3rd," and added, "We reiterate the request for the People Power Party to participate in the one-on-one debate proposed for the 31st."
He continued, "We will begin separate working-level negotiations for the one-on-one debate on the 31st and the four-party debate on February 3rd," adding, "Since candidate Lee Jae-myung has clearly expressed his intention to participate in the one-on-one debate on the 31st, candidate Yoon Seok-youl of the People Power Party should no longer set conditions and participate in the four-party debate, as well as in the related working-level negotiations."
