"Jang bwa wasseoyo" ... Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters Gives Lunar New Year Gifts to Neighbors with Groceries Bought at Traditional Market Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters held a traditional market shopping event at Wolnae Oil Market in Gijang-gun, Busan on the 27th.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters headed to the oil market in Gijang-gun, Busan, carrying shopping baskets on the 27th.


At the Lunar New Year traditional market shopping event held at Wolnae Oil Market in Jangan-eup, Kim Jun-seok, head of Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters, Kim Jong-bae, chairman of the Gori Headquarters labor union, and others participated. They purchased food products worth about 2 million won.


The Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters delivered the purchased goods to 25 vulnerable households in Jangan-eup and Ilgwang-myeon through the Gijang-gun Volunteer Center.


On the 24th, the headquarters purchased local agricultural products worth about 56 million won, including 1,170 bags of rice and 280 boxes of pears produced in the Gijang area, and gifted them to local children's centers, social welfare facilities, families with disabilities, and military units.


On the following day, the 25th, they also prepared holiday ritual foods worth about 3 million won and delivered them to 40 vulnerable households around the power plant area.


The Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters is the birthplace of domestic nuclear power, lighting the torch of nuclear power for the first time in Korea by starting commercial operation of Gori Unit 1 in April 1978, and is the largest power generation complex in the country.


As an energy public enterprise that produces electricity, the headquarters stated that it will not neglect social contribution activities to overcome difficulties together with local residents as well as ensuring stable power supply.


Head Kim Jun-seok said, “The traditional market shopping event is a good deed that helps revitalize the local economy and supports neighbors, achieving two goals at once,” and added, “We will continue to carry out various local cooperation activities to ensure no neighbors are left behind.”
