Gyeongsan Mayor Choi Young-jo, "Full-scale Omicron Prevention Response During Lunar New Year Holiday" ... Rapid Antigen Testing Site Installed North of Public Health Center

Gyeongsan Mayor Choi Young-jo, "Full-scale Omicron Prevention Response During Lunar New Year Holiday" ... Rapid Antigen Testing Site Installed North of Public Health Center On the 28th, Mayor Choi Young-jo of Gyeongsan held an emergency countermeasure meeting to prevent the regional spread of the Omicron variant.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gyeongsan City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 28th that, as a countermeasure against the Omicron variant, it will install and operate a rapid antigen testing site behind the parking lot of Nammae Park, north of the public health center, starting from the 29th, when the Lunar New Year holiday begins.

With the number of confirmed cases rapidly increasing in the region, the city held an emergency countermeasure meeting to quickly respond to the demand for COVID-19 testing and to establish a response system that enables early diagnosis and treatment linkage to block the local spread of COVID-19.

Additionally, as large-scale movement is expected during the Lunar New Year holiday, the city plans to focus its efforts on department-level COVID-19 spread prevention measures, operation of a comprehensive situation room in response to the Omicron variant, and PCR testing for high-risk groups.

Choi Young-jo, mayor of Gyeongsan City, urged citizens to “refrain from visiting hometowns, relatives, and traveling, and if visits are unavoidable, to strictly follow the core quarantine guidelines after receiving the third vaccine dose.”
