Designation of Public Institutions for 2022
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Son Seonhee] The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on the 28th that a total of 350 institutions have been confirmed as public institutions for 2022 through the deliberation and resolution of the Public Institution Management Committee. Three institutions, Korea Health and Medical Information Service, Korea Carbon Industry Promotion Agency, and Korea Product Safety Management Institute, were newly designated as other public institutions, while the Asia Culture Institute and Korea Securities Depository were deregistered as public institutions.
Deputy Prime Minister Hong held the Public Institution Management Committee on the same day and deliberated and resolved the '2022 Public Institution Designation Plan' containing these details. This designation plan is intended to newly designate institutions subject to application and management under the 'Act on the Management of Public Institutions,' and to deregister or change the classification of previously designated institutions.
According to the resolution of this public institution designation plan, a total of 350 institutions have been confirmed as subjects managed under the Public Institution Management Act. The number of public enterprises remains 36 as last year, quasi-governmental institutions decreased by one to 94, and other public institutions increased by two to 220.
