[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Taekwang Industrial announced on the 28th that it has appointed Cho Jin-hwan, CEO of TL Chemical, and Jung Cheol-hyun, Executive Director of Alkens, as the new CEOs.
Accordingly, Cho will be in charge of the Petrochemical Business Division, and Jung will oversee the Textile Business Division. Jung will also concurrently serve as CEO of Daehan Chemical Fiber.
Born in 1958, Cho joined Taekwang Industrial in 1982 and has held positions such as petrochemical plant manager and head of equipment management at the Ulsan headquarters. Earlier this year, he was appointed CEO of TL Chemical. Born in 1964, Jung joined Daehan Chemical Fiber in 1989 and has served as plant manager of Daehan Chemical Fiber and manager of nylon and acrylic plants.
Taekwang Industrial stated, "Through the appointment of new CEOs with extensive knowledge and field experience across various industries, we aim to stabilize our business and pursue a new leap forward," adding, "We will innovate corporate culture and actively discover new businesses."
The new CEO appointments will be finalized through the board meeting and the regular shareholders' meeting in March.
