[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] On the 28th at 10 a.m., the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced the results of the ‘2022 Academic Year Assignment for General High Schools under Equalization Policy’ on the Office of Education’s website.
The number of assigned students is a total of 15,390, including 15,327 within the quota and 63 outside the quota at 89 general high schools under the equalization policy.
Students must attend the preliminary assembly of the assigned high school at 2 p.m. on the 28th and complete enrollment registration from the 3rd to the 7th.
The preliminary assembly will be conducted in various ways such as walk-through or remote guidance depending on the COVID-19 situation and each school’s circumstances, so students should check the assigned high school’s website in advance.
The assignment was done by a computer-based random lottery method. In the first stage, 40% of each school’s quota was assigned to first-choice applicants through metropolitan school district allocation, and in the second stage, 20% of each school’s quota was assigned to second-choice applicants through regional school district allocation.
The third and fourth stages assigned students to fill vacancies from the first and second stages. The fifth stage was an integrated school district assignment, allocating students who were not assigned in stages one through four by reflecting residence information within the commuting area.
Kwon Hyuk-je, Director of Secondary Education at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “We flexibly adjusted the class quotas by gender, region, and school to allow students to enter the schools they hope for as much as possible.”
