[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Hanjin announced on the 28th that it will build a future-oriented virtual logistics space metaverse on the global metaverse platform ‘Zepeto,’ becoming the first in the industry to do so.

As part of 'Logistainment' (Logistics + Entertainment), which combines logistics and culture, this metaverse construction will establish Hanjin’s brand world map on the rapidly growing metaverse platform led by the MZ generation. The goal is to deliver a differentiated brand image and provide new customer experiences.

The metaverse will be utilized not only as a promotional space but also as a communication channel that encourages voluntary participation and experience from customers who ultimately use delivery and logistics services, as well as a space where business activities can take place.

To build the metaverse, Hanjin signed a business agreement the day before with Motive Ideas, a digital integrated marketing company.

The business agreement ceremony was conducted with key stakeholders including Hanjin CEO President No Sam-seok, Future Growth Strategy and Marketing Chief Officer Cho Hyun-min, and Motive Ideas CEO Yeo Young-jun attending as avatars resembling their real appearances to sign the agreement.

Through this agreement, the two companies plan to officially open the Hanjin Zepeto world map, ‘Hanjin Logiverse Island,’ in March.

‘Hanjin Logiverse Island’ represents the future-oriented logistics universe Hanjin pursues, featuring a total of four themed halls inspired by logistics businesses, from air (space) transportation to futuristic fulfillment centers, maritime transport and container terminals, and delivery terminals.

Each themed hall will be decorated with easy and fun futuristic designs featuring airports, robots, transportation means, and logistics facilities, and will be built as Logistainment spaces where visitors can experience unique mini-games and photo zones specific to each theme.

Additionally, the business room implemented within Hanjin Logiverse Island will be used for virtual meetings such as avatar voice conferences and business agreement signings.

A Hanjin official stated, “By building a metaverse worldview that implements future-oriented logistics for the first time in the industry, we can provide new experiences to all customers who ultimately use delivery and logistics services, including the MZ generation familiar with virtual worlds. We will continue to pursue changes in perception of the logistics industry and new attempts through broad marketing activities using various content and platforms.”

Meanwhile, as part of Logistainment, Hanjin has been continuously expanding new touchpoints with customers by releasing the mobile delivery game ‘Delivery King Island’ last year, launching Kakao emoticons, and producing brand goods.
