Gyeonggi-do Provides 'Performance Project Funds' to Outstanding Cities and Counties in Regional Balanced Development Projects Gyeonggi Provincial Government Northern Office

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province encourages timely completion of regional balanced development projects in each city and county within the province by evaluating the performance of these initiatives and providing performance project funds (incentives) to outstanding local governments.

According to the province on the 28th, two rounds of expert evaluations, both written and on-site, were conducted focusing on the progress made up to last year under the '2nd Gyeonggi Province Regional Balanced Development Basic Plan' implemented from 2020 to 2024.

In the evaluation, the Happiness Dream Center Construction Project (Dongducheon-si), Buk-myeon LPG Pipeline Network Construction Project (Gapyeong-gun), and Yeoju Integrated Water Purification Plant Expansion Project (Yeoju-si) received high marks. Based on the final results, each city or county will receive performance project funds ranging from a minimum of 500 million KRW to a maximum of 4.5 billion KRW.

The performance project funds can be used to expedite the existing regional balanced development projects or to discover and implement new projects aimed at regional development, such as 'small-scale projects closely related to daily life.'

The province plans to receive performance project plans from each city and county by the end of March and will prioritize confirming projects that can be completed within 2024 in line with the schedule of the 2nd regional balanced development project promotion in May.
