[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) announced a public statement titled "Implementing the Highest Level and Stage of Safety Mapo Towards Zero Safety Accidents" in the large conference room on the 8th floor of Mapo-gu Office starting from the 27th, following the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act (hereinafter referred to as the Serious Accidents Punishment Act).

Mayor Yu stated in the statement, "With the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act starting today, the era of viewing workers' safety as a cost has ended, and we are entering a major transition to a society where human life is the highest priority."

Prior to the enforcement of the law, Mapo-gu established a foundation for promoting safety and health management tasks, including the formation of a task force (TF) and dedicated organization to respond to the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, and the establishment of a comprehensive plan to prevent 'serious industrial accidents' and 'serious citizen accidents.' Safety inspections are also continuously being conducted on 42 public facilities subject to management for serious citizen accidents in the region.

Mayor Yu added, "We will not stop at the organizations and systems established so far, but will further listen to the voices of on-site workers and supplement the safety management plan to practically improve the overall safety level of our society. We will make our best efforts to implement the highest level and stage of safety to ensure that not a single safety accident occurs, and we ask all residents to join us in the path of establishing safety in daily life and workplaces."
