[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] The Busan International Film Festival has confirmed the reappointment of Chairman Lee Yong-gwan.
At the first extraordinary general meeting of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) held at BIFF Hill in the Busan Cinema Center at 2 p.m. on the 27th, the reappointment of Chairman Lee Yong-gwan was approved.
Chairman Lee was a founding member of the Busan International Film Festival in 1996 and served as chief programmer, vice executive chairman, executive chairman, and served as chairman for four years.
The Busan International Film Festival stated, "Chairman Lee Yong-gwan was appointed in 2018 and led the normalization of BIFF, and through successful quarantine measures during the COVID-19 pandemic, he solidified its status as Asia's largest film festival."
Chairman Lee Yong-gwan said, "I will strive not to disappoint the expectations of Busan citizens and filmmakers with a renewed spirit," adding, "Together with Festival Executive Chairman Heo Mun-young and Market Operations Chairman Oh Seok-geun, we will lay the foundation for the next 10 years with the newly prepared mid- to long-term vision plan."
This year, the Busan International Film Festival will be held for ten days from October 5 to 14 around the Busan Cinema Center.
