Gyeongnam Province Maintains 24-Hour Emergency Medical System During Lunar New Year Holiday

Gyeongnam Province Maintains 24-Hour Emergency Medical System During Lunar New Year Holiday Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 27th that it will activate an emergency medical system from the 29th to February 2nd, the Lunar New Year holiday period, to ensure that residents can have a healthy and safe holiday.

To minimize gaps in emergency medical care during the Lunar New Year holiday, 50 emergency and on-call medical institutions and general hospital emergency rooms will operate 24 hours a day as usual.

A total of 3,186 locations, including public health centers, hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies, will designate medical institutions by date for operation. Additionally, 46 screening clinics for residents with suspected COVID-19 symptoms will continue to operate daily, allowing anyone to use them without major inconvenience during the Lunar New Year holiday.

In preparation for a large number of patients, rapid response teams at public health centers and disaster medical support teams at Samsung Changwon Hospital, Gyeongsang National University Hospital, and Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital will be organized and on standby to respond to disaster situations.

Information on medical institutions and pharmacies that are open, as well as screening clinics, can be confirmed by calling 129, 119, or 120. Guidance is also available on the Emergency Medical Portal, the smartphone app (Emergency Medical Information Service), and the websites of the province, cities, and counties.

Kwon Yang-geun, Director of the Welfare and Health Bureau of the province, said, “We will do our best to ensure that residents and returnees can spend a safe Lunar New Year holiday by installing and operating emergency medical situation rooms within the province and city/county public health centers and maintaining an emergency contact network.”
