[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Ulsan Office of Education announced on the 27th that the satisfaction survey for the ‘School Janggeumi Health Promotion Project,’ jointly conducted with Nam-gu Public Health Center last year, showed a result of ‘very high.’
The School Janggeumi Health Promotion Project has been jointly promoted by Ulsan City, Ulsan Office of Education, and Nam-gu Public Health Center since 2019 to provide a healthy workplace for school meal workers.
Last year, 53 meal workers from 13 schools participated, including 8 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and 3 high schools in the Nam-gu area.
Various programs were offered, such as non-face-to-face health management using a mobile platform, walking classes in nearby parks, small group taping therapy practice, production of two School Janggeumi health exercise videos, and 21 meal workers participated in the Taehwagang National Walking Competition.
According to the Ulsan Office of Education, the satisfaction survey results showed an overall program satisfaction of 98%, 100% for work assistance, and 100% for instructor satisfaction.
Regarding the need to expand throughout Ulsan, 100% agreed on the necessity of expansion, and the preferred programs were health walking classes, followed by taping therapy and mobile health management.
The Ulsan Office of Education recently delivered shoulder massagers to Okdong Elementary School, Seonam Elementary School, Baekhap Elementary School, and Ulsan Girls' High School, which were recognized as excellent schools in the 2021 School Janggeumi project.
In March, after consultations with Ulsan City and Nam-gu Public Health Center, the 2022 School Janggeumi Health Promotion Project will be launched from April, with plans to gradually expand throughout Ulsan.
An education office official said, “We will actively promote work to ensure that meal workers can work healthily without pain through various health management efforts such as musculoskeletal disease prevention consulting and health promotion projects.”
