Yeosu Museon Seongsang Park, Newly Renovated and Open from Lunar New Year Holiday

Installation of Pedestrian Bridge and Waterfront Deck on Lake, Expansion of Elastic Pavement Walkway and Rose Park

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu City in Jeollanam-do has renovated the popular Museon Seongsang Park and will open it starting Saturday, the 29th, when the holiday begins.

The city announced that it has installed a pedestrian bridge across the park's lake, a 270m waterside deck, expanded the elastic pavement walking trail and rose garden, and plans to open them from this Lunar New Year holiday.

According to the city, the 'waterside deck walking trail' was created along the edge of the lake at water level to give visitors the feeling of walking over the lake in Seongsang Park.

Additionally, a viewing area was set up to observe carp and aquatic plants, and colorful night lighting was installed along the pedestrian bridge.

Meanwhile, Seongsang Park was established as a neighborhood park during the Museon residential development, and after more than 20 years, it required a full renovation.

Accordingly, Yeosu City has been promoting the 'Seongsang Park Remodeling' project since 2020, investing 6.8 billion KRW in construction.

A city official stated, "We are replacing and repairing the old pavement blocks and the foot volleyball court floor in Seongsang Park, and plan to complete a 'children's water playground' that can be used simultaneously by about 200 children by June this year, to open it in the summer."

He added, "Since this is a project that many citizens are interested in, we will actively review any inconveniences or suggestions regarding park use to ensure it is reborn as a premium park that citizens enjoy visiting."
