A total of 35 local health medical institutions participate to minimize medical gaps
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jong-sun] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will operate an emergency medical system to prevent medical service gaps during the Lunar New Year holiday period (until February 2).
This year, the Lunar New Year holiday extends for a total of five days, including the weekend. Therefore, thorough preparation is necessary for the occurrence of illnesses or emergency patients.
In response, Gokseong-gun will operate an emergency medical system with the participation of 35 local health care institutions, including 9 public health institutions (1 Health Medical Center, 2 Health Sub-centers, 6 Health Clinics), 1 hospital, 14 clinics, and 14 pharmacies.
First, the Gokseong-gun Health Medical Center will operate a situation room daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the holiday period.
The staff at the situation room will check the operation status of the emergency medical system and provide residents with information on emergency medical institutions and schedules.
Additionally, from January 31 to February 2, emergency medical teams will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at public health institutions in three zones.
In the Gokseong-eup zone, emergency medical services will be available at the Health Medical Center during this period. In the Ok-gwa zone, the Ok-gwa Health Sub-center has been designated as the emergency medical team. In the Seok-gok zone, the emergency medical team will operate at the Juk-gok Health Sub-center on January 31, and at the Godal Health Sub-center from February 1 to February 2.
Six Health Clinics will also operate as emergency medical teams. On January 31, Baek-gok Health Clinic and Geun-chon Health Clinic will be open; on February 1, Ap-rok and Sam-o clinics; and on February 2, Dong-gye and Hong-bok clinics will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Among private medical institutions, Gokseong Sarang Hospital will operate its emergency room 24 hours throughout the holiday period. Also, on January 29, most clinics and pharmacies will provide morning consultations. Operating hours are mostly between 12 a.m. and 1 p.m., but some places operate until 3 to 4 p.m.
A county official stated, “The emergency medical institutions and schedules for the Lunar New Year holiday will be posted on the official Gokseong-gun website, and if you have any questions during the holiday period, you can contact the situation room for detailed guidance.”
