Implementation of Special Traffic Safety Measures and Household Waste Collection Measures for Quarantine Safety
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] On the 27th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will strengthen measures for household waste disposal and traffic stability for residents and returning visitors during the Lunar New Year holiday period.
During the Lunar New Year holiday, 38 cleaning personnel including sanitation workers will be mobilized to specially collect household waste over two days, on the 29th and 31st, to prevent any inconvenience to residents.
To prevent environmental pollution in advance, special inspections are continuously being conducted targeting businesses that discharge environmental pollutants.
With special traffic measures in place, transportation companies are being collectively inspected for compliance with safety measures such as speeding, pre-operation vehicle inspections, and adherence to traffic laws, and disinfectants, hand sanitizers, and masks have been distributed.
To cope with the increased demand for public transportation, the Gurye-Seoul bus route will be increased from 8 to 12 trips per day from tomorrow until the 2nd of next month.
A county official said, “We will thoroughly prevent the inflow of COVID-19 by installing automatic disinfectors and conducting fever checks at the public bus terminal and Gurye station, and we will do our best to ensure residents have a comfortable Lunar New Year holiday by operating a household waste disposal and traffic measures situation room,” adding, “Please strictly follow personal quarantine rules such as wearing masks and social distancing.”
