[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang County will provide emergency disaster relief funds to residents experiencing economic difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

On the 27th, the county announced that it will invest a budget of 4.8 billion KRW to comfort the weary residents affected by COVID-19 and to revive the stagnant local economy by providing 100,000 KRW per person to all residents as emergency disaster relief funds.

The application period is scheduled from February 28 to March 31. The head of the household can apply online or submit an ID and application form to the local town or township office of their address to receive the funds in Damyang Love Gift Certificates.

The recipients are residents registered in Damyang County, marriage immigrants residing in Damyang County, and those who have obtained residency status.

The county expects that the distribution of the relief funds will stimulate consumption and create a virtuous cycle in the local economy.

County Governor Choi Hyungsik said, “Despite difficult financial conditions, we decided to provide the funds to support residents suffering from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” adding, “As the Omicron variant is rapidly spreading in the Jeonnam region, we ask residents to refrain from visiting other areas and to participate in additional vaccinations.”
