Utilizing Korea Forest Service Contest 'Living-Closely Garden Package Support Project'... Four Sites Including This Year's First Majung-gil Established

Jeonju City to Create Indoor and Outdoor Gardens at 15 Locations by 2025


[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 27th that it will promote a garden creation project focusing on spaces frequently visited by citizens this year.


The aim is to provide an environment where any citizen can easily access gardens and to contribute to the spread of garden culture.


Jeonju City plans to invest a total of 3 billion KRW this year under the theme "Opening the First Impression of Garden City Jeonju," utilizing the first-year project of the "Living Proximity Garden Package Support Project," which was selected in last year's Korea Forest Service contest, to create two outdoor gardens and two indoor gardens.


Outdoor gardens will be created with 500 million KRW each, totaling 1 billion KRW, at Cheotmujung-gil in front of Jeonju Station and World Cup Plaza in front of Jeonju World Cup Stadium.


Additionally, indoor gardens will be established at Jungsan Park, where the Garden Culture Center will be located, and at the National Pension Service building, with 1 billion KRW each, totaling 2 billion KRW in project costs.


Jeonju City plans to design substantial gardens by March after collecting residents' opinions and then begin construction from April.


As Jeonju City was selected for the Korea Forest Service's "Living Proximity Garden Package Support Project," it plans to invest a total of 11.5 billion KRW, including 7.5 billion KRW in national funds, from this year until 2025 to build a total of 15 living proximity gardens?7 outdoor gardens and 8 indoor gardens?at major hubs and representative facilities in the Jeonju area.
