Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation to Hold Fusion Art Performance at Incheon Airport on the 30th

The Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation (Chairman Choi Young-chang), together with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Hwang Hee) and Incheon International Airport Corporation (President Kim Kyung-wook), will present a fusion traditional art performance titled "Seolleongseolleong: Enjoy Lightly" at Incheon Airport on the 30th.

The event will take place at the Millennium Hall on the 1st floor of Incheon Airport Terminal 1. It is open to everyone regardless of departure status. The performance will be held twice, at 12 PM and 2 PM, each lasting 60 minutes, with the theme of the meeting between traditional culture and contemporary arts.

The performance begins with a fusion gugak (traditional Korean music) performance by the female fusion gugak group "Dueun." Pieces such as "I Kkot Jeo Kkot Pigo Jigo," "Biikryeonri," "Dongjitdal Ginagin Bameul," and "Hollo Arirang" will be presented, showcasing a beautiful harmony of traditional gugak and Western instruments, designed to be enjoyable even for foreigners.

Next, "Tantz EDM" will present a fresh traditional performance combining sound, dance, ensemble drums, and DJing. "Tantz EDM" was responsible for the music in the recently popular "Holybang X Incheon Airport Traditional Culture Media Wall Promotional Video." In this performance, they will bring energy to the airport once again with pieces like "Changbutaryeong," "Heungtaryeong," "Baktaryeong," and "Ongheya." Finally, the K-POP cover dance group "4X4 STUDIO," which has gained great popularity on YouTube, will conclude the show. They will reinterpret K-POP by incorporating traditional music, choreography, and costumes.

Woo Hye-jung, head of the cultural projects team at the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, said, "We have prepared Incheon Airport as an artistic stage to promote our culture during the Lunar New Year holiday," adding, "We hope this performance will revive the airport atmosphere, which has been subdued due to the recent spread of COVID-19 and the increase in confirmed cases."
