Through Gangseo Senior Welfare Center, 250 People Receive Meal Kits, Rice Cakes, and Assorted Jeon
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Min-jae] Home&Shopping announced on the 27th that it has extended warmth to elderly people in local communities who are easily neglected due to the surge and prolongation of COVID-19 cases.
On the 26th, to celebrate the Lunar New Year, Home&Shopping visited the Gangseo Senior Welfare Center and delivered 'Holiday Blessing Packages' to about 250 elderly people living alone. The packages consisted of easy-to-cook ▲meal kits ▲rice cakes ▲assorted jeon (Korean pancakes), among other items.
Reflecting the COVID-19 situation, the Gangseo Senior Welfare Center plans to deliver the packages contactlessly to the recipients' doorsteps.
Previously, Home&Shopping's in-house volunteer group has engaged in various social activities for local residents, including kimchi sharing events where volunteers directly prepared kimchi, delivering Pink Boxes (containing sanitary pads and other feminine products) to underprivileged female adolescents, and providing seasonal fruit packages to disadvantaged children.
A Home&Shopping official said, “As the COVID-19 situation worsens during the Lunar New Year, elderly people living alone are suffering greatly. We will continue to practice sharing with our neighbors and strive to lead in spreading warm care.”
