[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will conduct special quarantine inspections targeting areas densely populated by foreigners, including foreigner-concentrated residential areas and private multicultural consignment institutions, from the 27th of this month to the 2nd of next month in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.
To this end, Suwon City has formed a joint inspection team consisting of related public officials, Suwon City Foreigners Welfare Center, the Chinese Residents Association of Resuwon, and officials from Suwon Jungbu Police Station to inspect the Jidong area (foreigner-concentrated residential area) and three private consignment institutions (Suwon City Foreigners Welfare Center, Suwon City Multicultural Family Support Center, Suwon City Global Youth Dream Center).
The inspection team will check compliance with COVID-19 quarantine rules such as social distancing, temperature checks, and mask-wearing on streets and businesses in foreigner-dense areas, and will also conduct a promotional campaign for the third dose of the vaccine.
Additionally, they will urge foreign residents to refrain from traveling during the Lunar New Year holiday and distribute promotional leaflets containing COVID-19 quarantine guidelines in six languages.
