Starting March 2... First-Come, First-Served Registration
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Department Store announced on the 27th that it began recruiting members for the 'Spring Semester Culture Center' starting from the 26th. The spring semester Culture Center will run from March 2 to May 31 and will close on a first-come, first-served basis.
The overall theme of the spring semester Culture Center courses is 'Melting Point.' Along with its seasonal meaning, it conveys the hope that through new experiences and encounters at the Culture Center, the body and mind tired from daily life will melt away, even if only for a moment. Various courses presenting a lifestyle where 'spring melts the earth,' 'companionship melts the sound,' and 'alcohol melts the body' come together will be offered.
Under the theme of 'the mood of spring,' classes tailored to the 'Cottagecore' trend?currently spreading mainly among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), which pursues a simple natural life away from the complex city?have been prepared. Chef Yoon Seo Lee of 'Root on the Plate,' who conducts seasonal agricultural product cooking classes and workshops, will lead a 'Macrobiotic Cooking Class.' Macrobiotics refers to a healthy eating habit of consuming seasonal foods whole, from root to peel. The 'Chef Hyunsoo Yoo’s Cooking Class,' led by the first Michelin Korean cuisine chef, will present seasonal menus using 'Jeju Murung Oegatjip’s agricultural and marine product packages,' including fresh seaweed and fresh bracken from Jeju.
Various courses related to 'companion life' have also been planned. 'The Small Happiness Given by Bonsai' by Kim Moongeun, the first master in the bonsai field of arts and culture, suggests a rich way of life through bonsai living that changes with the seasons. The 'Dog Yoga & Dog Massage with Your Doggy' class introduces how to communicate with your pet dog through dog yoga that can be easily followed at home, led by Yoon Jungwon, president of the Korea Pet Yoga Association.
Courses related to recent alcohol trends, especially those matching the consumer flow pursuing premium experiences in daily life, such as wine, whiskey, and traditional liquor, are also introduced. The 'Blind Wine Tasting Course at Wine Social Dosan' offers a time to focus solely on the taste of wine without information on grape variety or origin in the tasting room of the wine complex cultural space 'Wine Social,' helping participants find their preferences. Additionally, the 'May Spring Seasonal Liquor Class,' where recommended traditional liquors of May are enjoyed with refreshments, is prepared at Bukchon’s 'Traditional Liquor Gallery.'
Spring semester registration can be done through the Lotte Culture Center’s internet and mobile websites. On-site registration is also available at the Culture Center desks within the stores.
