On the 26th, according to the Jeju Maritime Police Agency, Chief Park visited the Jeju Maritime Police rescue team and the small patrol vessel pier to inspect work status, equipment operation, and management conditions.
He also comforted the workers who strive to protect the lives and property of the people at the forefront of maritime accident sites and listened to their suggestions.
This inspection follows recent security site inspections at Hallim Police Substation and medium-to-large patrol vessels, and is conducted to preemptively check the readiness for emergencies such as various maritime accidents during the Lunar New Year holiday, aiming to ensure the safety and convenience of returning visitors and tourists visiting Jeju.
On the 27th, Chief Park plans to visit Jeju Port Coastal Passenger Terminal to hear about safety management plans for passenger ships expected to see a rapid increase in users and special traffic safety measures, and to encourage the workers.
Chief Park Sang-wook said, “We will make every effort to thoroughly prevent and manage safety to ensure that no maritime accidents occur in the Jeju sea during the Lunar New Year holiday,” and added, “The Jeju Maritime Police will take the lead so that the public can feel comfortable and secure.”
