Mokpo City Inspects Quarantine Status at Traditional Markets... 'Must Prevent Spread During Seol Holiday'


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Mokpo City in Jeollanam-do inspected the COVID-19 quarantine situation by visiting traditional markets and welfare facilities in the region, chaired by Mayor Kim Jongsik of Mokpo, ahead of the Seollal holiday.


According to the city on the 26th, Mayor Kim started visiting seven traditional markets, wholesale markets, and auction markets from the 25th to the 28th, beginning with Jungang Food Market, to ensure the traditional markets, which are busy during the holiday season, are safe from COVID-19 and to seek cooperation from merchants for quarantine measures.


In particular, on the 26th, he visited Cheongho Market, where the ‘Korea Fisheries Expo’ was being held, together with Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Moon Seonghyeok to observe the holiday market conditions, and then moved to Mokpo Coastal Passenger Terminal, a multi-use facility, to check the quarantine status.


Following this, Mayor Kim visited the indoor gymnasium where a temporary screening clinic was set up to inspect the operation status of PCR and self-diagnostic kit testing.


Prior to this, on the 25th, Mayor Kim visited six social welfare facilities including Mokpo Disabled Nursing Home, Jahye Nursing Home for the Elderly, Jahye Nursing Home, Mokpo Children's Home, Gongseng Rehabilitation Center, and Seongdeokwon to check the quarantine status and urged thorough quarantine measures.
