Appealing Innocence Amid Daejang-dong Development Favoritism Allegations

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, targeted Yoon Seok-yeol, the candidate of the People Power Party, on the 26th, saying, "I am attacked and suspected even for things that never happened, but my opponent's actual facts are all buried."
On this day, during an impromptu speech held at Hwajeong Station Cultural Square in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, Lee appealed to his supporters, saying, "We are on a very tilted playing field," expressing his grievance regarding controversies related to the preferential development allegations of Daejang-dong.

Lee said, "I would like to make a request," adding, "The public needs to know the truth to make a proper judgment, and if distorted information is given, they can only make distorted judgments. Please write at least one comment, empathize, post on communities, or send messages via KakaoTalk to inform the truth."
He said, "Each and every one of you should become the media. If 10,000 people speak once a day, the world will change," and added, "If you inform the world, the truth will soon be known, and society will become just. Please act with your fingers and your voice."
Additionally, he said, "I am your tool," and urged, "Think of me as Lee Jae-myung, think of yourself as the owner of this country, take responsibility, and decide your fate yourself."
On the same day, Lee also announced pledges for Goyang citizens, including active support for redevelopment, reconstruction, and remodeling of Ilsan New Town and aging residential complexes. He explained, "It is time to establish measures for reconstruction or remodeling of the first-generation new towns," and added, "We will also ease regulations to give the first-generation new towns a chance to reorganize."
Emphasizing "an economic president, a competent president," he said, "It is enough to do the job well, what else is needed?" and added, "To overcome polarization and low growth and leap forward again, a competent presidential candidate is necessary."
When Lee asked, "Who do you think is the most competent among the current candidates?" his supporters responded by shouting, "Lee Jae-myung."
