On the same day, the Democratic Party's Election Countermeasures Committee's Public Relations and Communication Headquarters held a 'Preview Screening of Candidate Lee Jae-myung's Handwritten Letter Video Preliminary Promotional Material' at the central party office in Yeouido, Seoul, in the morning. This video is scheduled to be released around the Lunar New Year holiday.

In the 3-minute preliminary promotional video titled "I hope you open this video letter even 5 years from now," which was released that day, Candidate Lee said, "The only reason I engage in politics is for the people's livelihood."

He added, "A politician who does not take responsibility for the people's livelihood has lost their reason for existence," and said, "I will do my best to overcome the COVID-19 crisis first. I will devote all my energy so that the people can return to their livelihoods and daily lives as soon as possible."

He continued, "I will make sure that both the people's livelihood and the economy fully recover. Amid the increasingly intense competition among world powers, I will ensure that the Republic of Korea stands tall," and said, "I will create a Korea where the younger generation is not just the future leaders but the leaders of the present."

He added, "The file attached to the letter contains my pledges. If you are curious about how well these promises will be kept, please open this letter again in 5 years," and emphasized, "Please evaluate me again then. I will be a president who keeps promises."

Kim Young-hee, head of the Public Relations and Communication Headquarters, who was in charge of this promotional material, said, "We had planned to send out 2.3 million copies of the preliminary promotional materials, but we thought replacing them with a video would be more suitable for the digital environment and environmentally friendly."

She also actively refuted Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, who criticized Candidate Lee's handwritten letter video.

Head Kim said, "Filming was completed on January 10, and we decided it would be best to wait and release it around the Lunar New Year holiday," responding to the leader's comment calling it a 'lie.'

Earlier, on the 20th, Leader Lee shared a report from Candidate Lee's side stating that instead of offline promotional materials, they would release a video of a handwritten letter online, and criticized, "Candidate Lee did not prepare offline preliminary promotional materials in advance and is now using the 'environmentally friendly' excuse."
