2022 Asia Consumer Awards Judging Review

"New Customer Experience and Service... Hope to Become a Vital Force for Our Economy"

The '2022 Asia Consumer Awards' is an event that certifies and promotes companies and brands that have prioritized consumer benefits in developing products or providing services over the past year, receiving the highest evaluations from consumers.

Accordingly, the judging panel prioritized consumer evaluations in the selection process. At the end of last year, Asia Economy conducted an online survey targeting candidate companies by category, recommending those that received the best evaluations from consumers as award nominees. In the second stage, the judging panel reviewed the ethical management activities of the nominated companies and assessed the appropriateness of the awards, selecting 39 winners across various categories. Among these, 12 companies that received the highest evaluations from consumers were comprehensively evaluated by a panel of six judges, consisting of consumer field experts and government officials in charge of relevant ministries, on the companies' management performance and the relevance to the awarding ministry’s work, ultimately deciding on the recipients of the Institutional Head Awards.

First, for the four comprehensive categories, Lotte Shopping was selected for the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award, and Dongseo Food and LG Household & Health Care were selected for the Minister of Health and Welfare Award. The Minister of Food and Drug Safety Award went to CJ CheilJedang, and the President of the Korea Food Industry Association Award was given to Ottogi. The judging panel also presented a special award to SPC, which is leading efforts in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities such as developing new crop varieties and supporting young farmers. In addition, a total of 33 companies won the grand prize across 31 categories.

Despite the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we once again extend our encouragement and congratulations to the award-winning companies that contributed to revitalizing the Korean economy by providing new customer experiences and services and creating customer value.
