[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] Paldo announced on the 26th that it will release a limited edition of ‘Paldo Bibimmyeon Cup 1.2’ with more than 20% increased weight. Paldo plans to expand the limited edition, which was only applied to the bagged noodles, to the cup noodles to target the winter bibimmyeon market.
The product increased the noodle weight from the existing 85g to 102g, an increase of 17g. Corresponding to the increased amount, 6g more liquid soup was added. The soup blend ratio was applied the same as the bagged noodles to enjoy the unique sweet and sour taste of bibimmyeon.
Paldo will produce a total of 1 million units without a separate price increase, and after a pre-release through 11st on the 27th, it will expand sales channels to convenience stores, discount marts, and more.
Han Chang-min, Paldo Marketing Team Leader, said, “Active feedback from consumers is the most important asset in product development,” and added, “We will solidify the status of bibimmyeon as a national brand by introducing various products including increased weight products and seasonal limited editions.”
