BBQ Donates 150 Million KRW Worth of Ready-to-Eat Meals to Socially Vulnerable Groups for Seol Holiday An employee of Genesis BBQ headquarters is loading products to be donated to the Food Bank truck on the 25th.

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Genesis BBQ announced on the 26th that it donated 23,000 sets of BBQ home meal replacement (HMR) products, including whole fried chicken legs and original wide chicken thighs, to local food banks in celebration of Seollal.

On the 25th, BBQ delivered its products worth approximately 150 million KRW to representatives of 13 local food banks, including Gwangju Central Food Bank and Hanam Food Bank. Including the 2,500 boxes delivered in December last year, the total value of products donated by BBQ to food banks this year amounts to 350 million KRW.

The HMR products donated by BBQ will be provided as warm and abundant meals to socially vulnerable groups in each region, such as low-income households, elderly living alone, basic livelihood security recipients, single-parent families, social welfare facilities, and free meal centers, so they can enjoy a warm holiday.

A BBQ official said, “We prepared this so that marginalized neighbors in the local community can have a warm holiday ahead of Seollal,” and added, “We will continue to lead efforts to help neighbors in need through sincere social contribution activities such as the Chicken Relay and support for single-parent families.”
