[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The 4·16 Democratic Citizenship Education Center has developed the '4·16 Democratic Citizenship Education Curriculum Operation Materials' for democratic citizenship education in schools.

These materials consist of a 'teaching-learning process plan' and 'online video content' organized into three areas: discussion and debate, humanities and reading, and projects, centered on the core elements of 4·16 democratic citizenship education?memory and empathy, critical thinking, and participation.

The teaching-learning process plan is divided into grades 5 to 6 of elementary school to grade 1 of middle school, and grades 2 of middle school to grade 2 of high school, including topics such as ▲ youth social participation ▲ memory and democratic citizenship ▲ safe village-making projects ▲ 4·16 stories encountered through brief histories ▲ from reader to writer.

Additionally, the online video content covers themes such as ▲ democratic citizenship index ▲ human rights for all ▲ raising my voice ▲ responsible people ▲ real news and fake news.

Jeon Myung-seon, director of the 4·16 Democratic Citizenship Education Center, emphasized, "By utilizing 4·16 democratic citizenship education materials linked to the curriculum in school settings, effective daily lessons will unfold, helping students grow into democratic citizens.
