On the 25th, a Ministry of Foreign Affairs official stated that currently 43 Korean nationals are staying in Burkina Faso, and all are confirmed to be safe.
The Koreans staying in Burkina Faso are 25 in the capital city Ouagadougou and 18 in the second largest city Bobo-Dioulasso. Most of them are missionaries and their families, with a small number of self-employed individuals as well.
An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Korean Embassy in C?te d'Ivoire, which is concurrently responsible for Burkina Faso, is conducting frequent safety checks. "Depending on how the local situation develops, we are preparing possible measures and will continue efforts to ensure the safety of overseas nationals," the official added.
