Gyeongbuk Farmers and Fishermen Allowance Applications Must Be Submitted by the 28th

Receipt at Eup, Myeon, Dong Administrative Welfare Centers, Distribution of Local Love Gift Certificates

Gyeongbuk Farmers and Fishermen Allowance Applications Must Be Submitted by the 28th Gyeongbuk Provincial Government Office.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gyeongsangbuk-do will accept applications for this year's Gyeongbuk Farmer and Fisherman Allowance at the administrative welfare centers in eup, myeon, and dong of the applicant's address from January 28 to February 28.

The allowance targets farmers and fishermen who meet the qualifications defined by individual laws for agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, are heads of households registered as agricultural, forestry, or fishery business entities by December 31, 2020, and have resided in Gyeongbuk for more than one year before January 1, 2022.

Those with comprehensive income from non-agricultural or fishery activities exceeding 37 million KRW, those caught for fraudulent receipt of subsidies such as direct payments last year, and public officials or employees of public institutions are excluded.

Persons who have been penalized for violating the Farmland Act, Mountainous Area Management Act, Livestock Epidemic Prevention Act, or Fisheries Act, spouses of eligible business owners for the Farmer and Fisherman Allowance, or those living together but separated into different households are also not eligible.

If there are joint business owners, only one person needs to apply, and if married, only one spouse can receive the allowance.

The application documents differ slightly between households that received the previous year's public direct payment and those that did not, but the forms are available at eup, myeon, and dong administrative welfare centers, and applications are accepted only once a year.

After qualification screening in March, recipients will be confirmed and the 600,000 KRW Farmer and Fisherman Allowance will be paid in two installments of 300,000 KRW each in April and August as local love gift certificates, which can be used without item restrictions at local currency affiliated stores.

The local currency can be received in paper, card, or mobile formats, and if not collected within the payment period, the allowance will be reclaimed and cannot be received again.

Governor Lee Cheol-woo said, "The sweat of farmers and fishermen is the source of strength that sustains the Republic of Korea even in times of crisis," adding, "The Farmer and Fisherman Allowance will serve as an opportunity to preserve and promote the public functions of agriculture and fisheries."
