Moorim Paper's Paper Cushioning Material Recognized Worldwide

Neofore Cushioning Material Wins '2022 WorldStar Packaging Award' from World Packaging Organization...The Only Domestic Paper Company Recipient

Moorim Paper's 'Neofore Cushioning Material' has once again proven its top technology and eco-friendliness by winning the '2022 WorldStar Packaging Award,' recognized as the world's highest authority in the packaging industry.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] NeoFore cushioning material, an eco-friendly paper developed by Murim, a comprehensive pulp, paper, and new materials company, has won the prestigious "2022 World Star Global Packaging Awards," the world's highest honor in packaging technology. Among approximately 440 products submitted worldwide, Murim is the only domestic paper company to receive the award.

The World Star Packaging Awards is an annual competition organized by the World Packaging Organization (WPO), composed of packaging associations and companies from around the world, which selects and announces innovative packaging products. It is currently recognized as the most prestigious award in the global packaging market.

Murim Paper's NeoFore cushioning material replaces vinyl air caps (bubble wrap) used for product protection during packaging or shipping with environmentally friendly paper material. It is the first air-inflated paper cushion in Korea, measuring about 7 cm in diameter and weighing approximately 1.6 g per piece, roughly the size of a palm, yet it achieves excellent strength capable of easily supporting a 10 kg bag of rice.

Based on this durability, NeoFore cushioning material effectively serves its cushioning role while using no adhesives in the sealing process to prevent air leakage, earning official recognition from the Ministry of Environment for recyclability and eco-friendliness. It is regarded as a new alternative in the packaging market, where environmental importance is increasingly emphasized.

Following its receipt of the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Director's Award at the 15th Korea Packaging Exhibition last May and its selection as the "2021 Korea Green Product of the Year," Murim Paper's cushioning material has now secured the "2022 World Star Packaging Award," proving its outstanding technology and eco-friendly value not only domestically but globally.

Ryu Shin-gyu, Head of Sales at Murim, stated, "This award is a great achievement demonstrating that Murim Paper's products possess the highest quality and technology comparable to any overseas product." He added, "In addition to paper cushioning materials, we will lead the eco-friendly market through paper products applicable in daily life, such as biodegradable paper cups and paper straws."

Murim Paper's cushioning material is currently used in some shipments from CJ Logistics Baegam Distribution Center, and inquiries are continuing not only from the parcel delivery market but also from other industries, raising expectations for its expansion and application across various fields.
