Pulmuone Signs Business Agreement with Korea Diabetes Association to Improve Meals for Diabetics

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Pulmuone is strengthening its disease management meal program for diabetics in partnership with the Korea Diabetes Association.

On the 25th, Pulmuone Foods announced that it signed a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to expand products and services for healthy eating habits of domestic diabetics" with the Korea Diabetes Association.

This agreement was made based on a shared understanding that management of diabetes, a representative chronic disease, is becoming increasingly important, and that Pulmuone and the Korea Diabetes Association will provide accurate information on diabetes and its management to diabetics and lead them to adopt healthy eating habits. According to data from the Korean Diabetes Association, as of 2018, one in four Koreans aged 30 and above are either diabetic patients or at risk, and this number continues to rise.

Going forward, Pulmuone Foods will become the official sponsor of various projects promoted by the Korea Diabetes Association for domestic diabetics and will expand the provision of Pulmuone’s diet-type meal management foods for diabetic patients and necessary information for diabetics. According to the agreement, Pulmuone will ▲ cooperate in linking and supporting the Korea Diabetes Association’s projects with Pulmuone’s personalized diet product ‘Design Meal’ and the ‘Design Meal’ integrated mall ▲ display the Korea Diabetes Association’s official sponsorship mark on information provision channels related to Pulmuone’s ‘Design Meal’ products during the agreement period ▲ collaborate on education and promotion targeting domestic diabetics.

Pulmuone Foods operates the ‘Diabetes Care Meal Plan’ as a disease management meal category within its personalized life cycle and lifestyle diet business, ‘Design Meal.’ The ‘Diabetes Care Meal Plan’ is an instant consumption or instant cooking healthy meal designed so that diabetic patients can enjoy delicious and healthy meals at home, in line with the newly established ‘diet-type meal management food’ category by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. It is composed of a meal set including two vegetable side dish packs, one protein side dish pack, and one whole grain rice pack, designed through scientific meal research that helps carbohydrates digest and absorb slowly and menu nutrition planning by clinical nutritionists.
