Gang Involved in Illegal Distribution of Meat Destined for Disposal Caught

On the 24th, according to the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Unit of the Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency, five people including Mr. A, a person related to the slaughterhouse direct sales company, and personnel from a processing company were booked and are scheduled to be investigated on charges of processing and selling livestock products subject to disposal (violation of the Livestock Products Sanitation Control Act).

Mr. A and others are suspected of illegally diverting and selling meat that was subject to disposal inside the slaughterhouse direct sales center during a recent fire at a livestock slaughterhouse in Daedeok-gu, Daejeon.

At that time, livestock products worth several hundred million won were stored in places such as the direct sales center warehouse, but most were ordered to be disposed of due to damage such as soot. However, the police believe that Mr. A and others circulated some of the meat by altering some livestock product traceability numbers.
