Achievement Rate of 97.87% Against Term Goals · Steady Increase in Educational Autonomy Scores

Park Jong-hoon, Superintendent of Gyeongnam Education, Rated 'Very Excellent' in Second Half of 2021 Pledge Implementation with a Score of 96.0 out of 100 The 17th Gyeongnam Superintendent of Education Pledge Project Evaluation Committee evaluated Superintendent Park Jong-hoon's implementation results of the pledge projects for the second half of 2021.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The 17th Gyeongsangnam-do Superintendent of Education Pledge Project Evaluation Committee announced on the 24th that it evaluated Superintendent Park Jong-hoon's pledge project implementation results for the second half of 2021 with a score of 96.0 points.


The score, converted to a 100-point scale, increased by 3.2 points from the 92.8 points received in the pledge implementation evaluation for the second half of last year.


The score was finalized through a three-stage evaluation process: an initial individual evaluation by each committee member, followed by a second-stage subcommittee evaluation held on the 18th at the Gyeongnam Education Research Information Center, and a third-stage full committee evaluation.

Regarding the status of Superintendent Park Jong-hoon's pledge project implementation, out of 47 pledge projects, 46 were completed and 1 was being normally promoted, showing a promotion rate of 97.87% against the overall target during the term.


Looking into the detailed pledge project implementation, 40 projects including the creation of a Future Education Theme Park were rated as very excellent, 6 projects such as the expansion of national and public kindergartens were rated excellent, and 1 project, the expansion and distribution of safety covers for school bags, was rated very insufficient.

In the evaluation results by seven major areas, the areas of just education, schools with learning, and the realization of happy Gyeongnam education scored the highest with 100.0 points, kindergarten responsible education scored 96.0 points, educational autonomy scored 96.0 points, and education system establishment scored 95.0 points.


In the educational autonomy area evaluated by student committee members, scores steadily increased from 76.0 points in 2019, 88.0 points in 2020, to 96.0 points in 2021.


Starting this year, the educational autonomy area added the creation of a democratic school culture that respects student rights to the existing guarantees of student participation in school operation committees, strengthening of student club activities, and activation of student autonomous activities.


The Gyeongnam Office of Education evaluated that the scores in the educational autonomy area increased due to the establishment of an educational community of communication and empathy through the promotion of democratic citizenship education, creation of a human rights-friendly school culture, and activation of school autonomy where everyone is an owner.


Committee member Kim Eun-joo said, “Having served as a pledge project evaluation committee member for over four years, I could genuinely feel the changes in Gyeongnam education that are creating future education based on educational innovation.”


Chairman Hong Hyun-gi said, “This was the final process to examine the implementation of the 17th Gyeongnam Superintendent of Education’s pledge projects,” and added, “I hope that the remaining term will be devoted to faithfully implementing the pledges.”
