Mayor Oh visited Seoul Metro around 2:30 PM, was guided by President Kim, went straight to the president's office, had a brief tea time, and then received the New Year business report.

President Kim prepared thoroughly for the New Year business report to Mayor Oh, including rehearsals several days in advance, and received no particular criticism from Mayor Oh on the day.

President Kim emphasized the complete prevention of serious accidents. He reported, "We will prioritize urgent improvements in preparation for the enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act," and added, "We will temporarily suspend construction work during the intensive inspection period for serious accident prevention."

In other words, he announced that for two months after the enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act, less urgent construction work will be temporarily halted or postponed.

He also reported that 30 key projects (14.5 billion KRW) for serious accident prevention will be promptly promoted, with 19 projects such as installing safety hooks for inspection of elevated stations and canopies to be completed in the first half of the year.

Additionally, ongoing projects such as aging facility and train car improvements (491.4 billion KRW), replacement of old train cars, installation of CCTV in train carriages, PSD and train door closing alarm sound output, and the establishment of a last train ticket gate blocking system were also promised.

It is known that Mayor Oh had prepared separate questions for Seoul Metro on this day but did not make any special requests. This is interpreted as a sign of satisfaction with the content of Seoul Metro's report.

Meanwhile, after the business report, Mayor Oh toured the comprehensive control center of the corporation, encouraged the employees, and then returned to City Hall.
