40-Year-Old Arrested for Stabbing Older Brother Who Tried to Stop Fight with Father Over Money

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] A man in his 40s who stabbed his older brother with a weapon while arguing over money with his father has been arrested by the police.

The Changwon Western Police Station in Gyeongnam announced on the 24th that they plan to request an arrest warrant for Mr. A on charges of attempted murder.

Mr. A is accused of stabbing his older brother B (in his 40s) seven times with a weapon at their home in Buk-myeon, Uichang-gu, Changwon City, at around 6:15 p.m. on the 23rd.

According to the police, Mr. A got into an argument with his father over the issue of transferring the building's ownership, and when B, with whom he usually had a poor relationship, tried to intervene, he committed the crime in a fit of anger.

B, who was stabbed in the side and other areas, was taken to the hospital for treatment. It was confirmed that his life was not in danger, thanks to the thick clothing he was wearing at the time.

Mr. A fled but was caught by police who arrived following a family report, near his residence, within 20 minutes.

The police are investigating the exact motive behind Mr. A's crime.
