Focus on Preventing Local Infection Spread: 25 Detailed Measures Across 7 Key Areas
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has prepared and is implementing the "2022 Lunar New Year Holiday Comprehensive Plan," which includes 25 detailed action items across 7 sectors to ensure a safe holiday period.
First, as a measure to prevent the local spread of COVID-19, a Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters will be operated. A 24-hour emergency contact system will be maintained, and screening clinics will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the Lunar New Year holiday to promptly respond to various emergency situations. The plan is to establish a thorough quarantine system.
Additionally, to strengthen disinfection at multi-use facilities, inspection teams will be formed to focus on compliance with quarantine rules before and after the holiday at 1,613 key and general management businesses, 170 cultural and religious facilities, 79 social welfare facilities, traditional markets, and others.
As a measure to prepare for various safety accidents such as disasters and accidents, safety inspections will be conducted at nine disaster-vulnerable multi-use facilities. Furthermore, the five-day Lunar New Year holiday will be designated as a special wildfire prevention period, and an emergency duty system capable of immediate response to wildfire occurrences will be established.
Before the holiday, a price stabilization task force will be formed for 16 types of Lunar New Year seasonal products and 64 key management items, which see increased demand. They will monitor supply conditions and price trends, and focus on cracking down on the indication of the origin of Lunar New Year gift sets and seasonal products.
To prepare for emergencies involving elderly people living alone, a customized elderly care service will be activated. Safety visits will be conducted for all eligible individuals, and food vouchers will be provided to children at risk of missing meals during the holiday period.
In addition, to respond to complaints about a surge in waste, a waste disposal task force and a mobile cleaning team will be operated. To prepare for water pipe bursts caused by cold waves, water and sewage emergency management offices will be operated to reduce administrative gaps.
County Governor Goo In-mo said, “We will strive to implement sector-specific measures for a safe Lunar New Year holiday,” and added, “I hope all residents and visitors maintain vigilance against the spread of COVID-19 and strictly follow personal quarantine rules to have a healthy Lunar New Year.”
