Total Project Cost of 1.3 Billion KRW, Establishment of Public Meal Planning and Production System
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] A 'command tower' for planning and producing food, overseeing public meals, will be established in Daeyang-myeon, Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam.
Hapcheon-gun announced on the 24th that it will build an integrated food support center to establish a public meal planning and production system on a site area of 2,383㎡ and a building area of 660㎡ in the Daemok-ri area, with a total project cost of 1.3 billion KRW.
The center is scheduled to be completed in June. It plans to prioritize supplying local agricultural products to school meals and public meals within the region and expand to consumers. Hapcheon-gun is accelerating the project with the goal of pilot operation in September.
Additionally, the food support center will serve as the control tower function of the 'Hapcheon-gun Food Plan,' which aims to increase farmers' income and supply safe agricultural and food products to consumers. It is expected to play a pivotal role in establishing a virtuous cycle system for local food.
Hapcheon-gun will establish a 'food support' department within the Agricultural Technology Center to prepare for the era of future paradigm shifts through swift investment and administrative focus on the local future food industry.
It plans to actively respond to Gyeongnam Province's 2030 innovation strategy implementation plan, including revitalizing local food, establishing a food plan, and building and operating the integrated food support center.
