Neofect's Rehabilitation Device 'Smart Pegboard' Designated as Public Procurement Service Innovation Product..."Expanding Public Purchase Channels"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] NeoFect, a company specializing in innovative medical solutions, announced on the 24th that its upper limb rehabilitation training device, the Smart Pegboard, has been designated as an innovative product by the Public Procurement Service.

The Smart Pegboard is a rehabilitation training tool developed for patients with neurological and musculoskeletal disorders who have impaired hand and arm functions, as well as stroke and dementia patients. Through repetitive training of moving pegs onto the board, it helps improve eye-hand coordination, fine motor skills, and cognitive abilities.

Unlike conventional pegboards made only of wood or plastic boards, the Smart Pegboard is differentiated by its digitalization, which enhances not only training effectiveness but also concentration and ease of use. The main body is equipped with 63 high-brightness LEDs and sensors that detect peg insertion, providing visual and auditory feedback according to the patient's movements.

The Public Procurement Service’s innovative products are selected through deliberation by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance’s Procurement Policy Deliberation Committee to promote innovation in public services through technology development and to expand the linkage of innovative technology products to public procurement. Selected innovative products are registered in the Innovation Marketplace, can be contracted exclusively by public institutions for three years, and can participate in the Public Procurement Service’s pilot purchase projects.

Ban Ho-young, CEO of NeoFect, said, “We are honored that the Smart Pegboard has been officially certified as a product capable of improving public services and innovating technology. With this designation as an innovative product by the Public Procurement Service, we will actively expand into domestic and international public and private sectors and become an innovative company that contributes further to the improvement of public services.”

The Smart Pegboard is currently being used at nationwide day and night care center branches of Long Life Green Care, a subsidiary of NeoFect. It has previously won the ‘CES 2018 Innovation Award’ and the ‘2019 Red Dot Design Award for Product Design.’
