On the final day of the Asian Tour 2020/2021/2022 season finale, the SMBC Singapore Open (total prize money $1.25 million) held on the 23rd at Sentosa Golf Club Serapong Course (par 71) in Singapore, he added 2-under-par to finish tied for 2nd place (10-under-par 274). Amid the integration of three seasons due to the impact of COVID-19, he ranked first in prize money ($507,553). This is the fourth time a Korean player has topped the money list, following Kang Wook-soon (56), who was number one twice in 1996 and 1998, and No Seung-yeol (31·Zivente) in 2010.
Kim Jong-deok (61) and Choi Kyung-ju (52·SK Telecom) each once won the Asian Circuit money title, which was absorbed into the Asian Tour. Kim Joo-hyung has participated in eight Asian Tour events, achieving one victory, two runner-up finishes, and six top-10 finishes. Notably, he showed remarkable results in his last four tournaments: runner-up at the Blue Canyon Championship in November last year, 7th place at the Laguna Phuket Championship in December, winner of the Singapore International last month, and runner-up in this event.
Kim Joo-hyung is the player who won the Panasonic Open in November 2019 at the young age of just 17. In the 2021 season, he became the youngest triple crown winner in Korean Professional Golf Association (KPGA) history. He became the youngest champion on the Korean Tour at 18 years and 21 days old at the KPGA Gunsan CC Open in July 2000, and last year, led by his victory at the SK Telecom Open in June, he swept the money list, the Player of the Year, and the lowest scoring average titles. He set a new milestone as the first Korean player to top both the Korean Tour and Asian Tour money lists.
Satom Kaeukanjana (Thailand) reduced two strokes to complete a 3-stroke victory (13-under-par 271). Katsuragawa Yuto (Japan) tied for 2nd place, and Kim Si-hwan (USA) finished 4th (9-under-par 275). Moon Do-yeop (31·DB Insurance) surged with a 6-under-par round to leap to tied 5th place (7-under-par 277). Kim Bi-o (32·Hoban Construction) performed well, finishing tied 9th (5-under-par 279). The Asian Tour will start the 2022/2023 season next month with the Saudi International.
